“Baltimore” is awfully catchy. It’s got a simplistic utopian hope to it. It’s like an Al Green tune. “Let’s take all the guns away” “Enough is enough. It’s time for love!” YEAH. This glorious reconciliatory cautionary masterpiece leaves us with just a lingering hint of cheese lingering in the air. The music is pure. Raw? Don’t let the cheery tune deceive you, and even though there are hopeful images, there are also sad reminders throughout. Truly, it’s a time to heal and PRINCE HAS SHOWN US THE WAY.
The tune finishes to an ominous tune of some radio chatter from LA. Was that a clip from the Rodney King Insurgency?
